AMLR are looking for a Surface Treatment Technician to join a leading aerospace manufacturer.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, preparing and treating high-quality metal components to meet strict aerospace standards.
Key responsibilities for Surface Treatment Technician
- Preparing and operating chemical processing equipment and tanks.
- Cleaning, degreasing and etching metal components prior to treatment.
- Applying chemical conversion coatings, anodising, passivation and other surface treatments.
- Monitoring chemical bath concentrations, temperatures, p H levels and processing times.
- Recording process parameters and maintaining accurate production documentation.
- Inspecting treated components to ensure quality and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Following standard operating procedures and aerospace quality standards.
- Safely handling, storing and disposing of chemicals in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Carrying out routine maintenance on chemical processing equipment.
- Working closely with quality inspectors, engineers and production teams.
Requirements for Surface Treatment Technician
- Understanding of chemical handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques.
- Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Awareness of health, safety and environmental regulations.
- GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and Science.
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in engineering, manufacturing or chemical processing would be beneficial.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or metal finishing would be advantageous.
- Training in hazardous chemical handling and workplace safety would be beneficial.
