Overview: Are you an experienced CNC Miller setter operator looking to join one of the largest independent global manufacturers in the UK? Specialising in a wide range of aerospace production capabilities, we are located in Basildon, Essex, and dedicated to precision manufacturing, treatments, NDT, and repairs of metallic aerospace parts and finished components. We are seeking a skilled professional to set up, operate, and optimise CNC milling machines, ensuring high-quality, close-tolerance components are produced to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including tooling changes and process adjustments, in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work on 3 and 5 axis machines.
- Experience working with aerospace parts and working to ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 standards.
- Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation for quality assurance and production tracking.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in CNC milling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in using a wide range of measuring and inspection tools.
- Background in working to tight tolerances and quality control processes.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent qualification is beneficial.
