AMLR are looking for a Chemical Process Operator who are looking to join a leading aerospace manufacturer.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment.

Key responsibilities for Chemical Process Operator

  • Preparing and operating chemical processing equipment and tanks.
  • Cleaning, degreasing, and etching metal components before treatment.
  • Applying chemical conversion coatings, anodising, passivation, or other surface treatments.
  • Monitoring chemical bath concentrations, temperatures, p H, and processing times.
  • Recording process parameters and maintaining accurate production documentation.
  • Inspecting treated parts for quality and compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and aerospace quality standards.
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous chemicals safely.
  • Performing routine maintenance on processing equipment.
  • Working closely with quality inspectors, engineers, and production teams.

Requirements for Requirements for Fettler/Polisher

  • Understanding of chemical handling and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques.
  • Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
  • Teamwork and communication.
  • Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or chemical processing (beneficial).
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or metal finishing.
  • Training in hazardous chemical handling and workplace safety.
