An opportunity to grow with us as AML Instruments continues to expand. We are pleased to offer an internal opportunity for an Internal Sales Consultant to join our Sales & Marketing Team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a strong technical mindset, and wants to play an active part in supporting the continued growth of our calibration and test equipment business. Full training and development will be provided, including product knowledge, calibration understanding, and sales skills.
About the Role
The Internal Sales Consultant will act as a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries relating to test equipment, calibration services, repairs, and service work. The role is primarily internal sales, but you will also support business development activities, relationship building, and occasional external visits when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming customer sales enquiries and provide suitable technical solutions
- Communicate with customers by phone, email, and face-to-face where required
- Create and maintain a strong professional presence on LinkedIn
- Prepare accurate and detailed quotations using customer information and technical input from colleagues or external experts
- Deliver clear and engaging presentations for customer discussions and marketing content
- Follow up open enquiries and maintain strong post-sales communication
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, placing orders and coordinating requirements
- Proactively reach out to existing and lapsed customers to identify opportunities
- Attend occasional Trade Shows and Events
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Previous experience in a technical or customer-facing role
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confident using computer systems and CRM tools
- Proactive approach with the ability to bring ideas forward
- Comfortable working independently and within a small team
- Willingness to develop and take on further training
- Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with materials testing machines and/or calibration services
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or UKAS 17025
- Understanding of calibration processes
