AMJ Recruitment are recruiting for CNC Router Setter/Operator, based at our well established Manufacturing Client based in Nuneaton, CV11.

This is a fantastic opportunity with a genuine temp to perm opportunity.

  • Starting ASAP
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (08:00am - 16:00pm)
  • Salary Details: £16.00 to £17.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
  • Term - This is a LONG TERM job

What is the Role?

This job combines mechanical setup with machine monitoring.

You turn digital design files into physical parts using a CNC router.

You make sure the machine runs safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Setting Up

  • Install the correct router bits and cutting tools. - Secure sheet materials (like MDF, plywood, or acrylic) onto the machine bed using clamps or vacuum tables. - Set machine zero points (datums) and tool length offsets.

Operating

  • Load and select the correct cutting programs. - Run test pieces ("prove out" programs) to check for errors before mass production. - Monitor the machine during cutting, manage chip extraction, and load new raw materials.

Quality Control

  • Measure finished parts using calipers, gauges, or micrometers. - Perform first-off inspections to ensure parts match technical engineering drawings.
