We are looking for a Derivatives Sales Associate who will collaborate with the wider Sales and Trading team to manage and grow client trading relationships across derivatives structured on tradeable agricultural commodities (Cotton, Grains & Oilseeds, Sugar, Coffee, Cocoa). The ideal candidate will have some experience and understanding in a commercial agricultural commodities role and have some understanding of how financial derivatives can be used to manage financial risk in this context.
- Support the wider sales team in managing existing client relationships and help with execution of derivatives trades.
- Develop derivatives knowledge across futures, options and structured products to help provide our clients with tailored derivatives solutions to manage price risk.
- Provide clients with updates on market trends, economic supply/demand fundamentals and macroeconomic developments affecting agricultural commodities.
- Collaborate with the wider Trading and Research teams to provide market intelligence and hedging strategies.
- Build a network and client book across agricultural commodities markets by attending industry events, conferences and trade shows.
- Negotiate structured derivatives trades and monitor client positions, margin requirements and exposures.
Essential skills & experience:
- 1-5 years of experience in commodities markets, financial products trading or brokerage.
- An eagerness to learn about commodities and desire to expand that knowledge into the trading of more complex derivatives.
- Some understanding of financial derivatives, hedging strategies and structured products.
- Excellent analytical, organisation, negotiation and communication skills.
- Additional languages are beneficial but not essential.
- Willingness to travel where required for network building.
- Some existing network and understanding of commodities industry is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience in structured derivatives, pricing, and risk management is beneficial but not essential.
