About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager to join the business on a permanent basis due to immediate workload requirements. This is a key role for a hands-on construction professional with a strong main contractor background, capable of successfully delivering multiple projects across industrial and commercial environments. The successful candidate will be agile, commercially aware, and confident managing the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, typically valued between £250k and £5m
- Take full responsibility for project delivery, including programme, cost, quality, and safety
- Lead projects from pre-construction, procurement, and planning through to completion
- Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations, acting as Principal Contractor where required
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Produce and manage project programmes, budgets, and forecasts
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent the business professionally on site and in meetings
- Ensure all works are delivered to contractual requirements and company standards
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager with a main contractor
- Demonstrable experience delivering projects in industrial and commercial sectors
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and health & safety best practice
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly between office and site locations
- SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent) essential
