Do you take pride in keeping things safe, organised and running smoothly? Would you like to work mornings only? Would you enjoy the responsibility of leading on health and safety, building and maintenance and risk assessment? I am seeking a proactive and hands-on Site Manager to join a small and friendly, specialist, child centred school. Ideally, I am looking for someone to work 7:30am to 1pm, however full time applications will also be considered.
This is a varied role that would suit someone from a buildings and maintenance background who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes ownership of their environment and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented site. Working closely with the Headteacher and wider team, you will play a key role in ensuring the school remains a safe and enjoyable place for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the school site, including:
- Opening and securing the school each day
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Monitoring the condition of buildings and grounds
- Managing site health and safety procedures
- Coordinating and supervising contractors
- Supporting compliance, inspections and record keeping
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety
- Assisting with site improvements and development projects
No two days will be the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied and practical role. I am interested in hearing from people with experience in site management, caretaking, facilities, property maintenance or similar environments who have:
- Practical maintenance and repair skills
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices
- Strong organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
- A proactive, can-do attitude
- Excellent reliability and a strong work ethic
Experience within a school environment would be advantageous but is not essential. The successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding requirements. Salary advertised is full time equivalent and will be pro-rata according to contracted hours.
