In partnership with my client, a leading global law firm, I am working on an opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Corporate & Finance – Corporate Insurance team based in London.
This role offers the chance to work almost exclusively on corporate transactions within the insurance sector, advising on complex, high-profile matters across the UK and Europe. It is an excellent opportunity for a strong corporate lawyer looking to deepen their specialism in insurance-focused transactions within a collaborative, internationally recognised practice.
The Opportunity
You will join a market-leading Corporate Insurance team known for:
- Advising on a wide range of corporate transactions in the insurance industry, including public and private M&A
- Handling complex, cross-border and Europe-wide matters
- Acting on specialist insurance transactions such as Part VII transfers, portfolio acquisitions, reinsurance arrangements and renewal rights
- Advising insurance companies and boards on corporate governance, listed company issues and equity capital markets matters
- Working closely with colleagues across corporate, regulatory, finance and international offices
The team supports clients across all major segments of the insurance market, including life and general insurance, Lloyd’s of London, run-off and consolidation businesses, and emerging InsurTech platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your role will include:
- Advising on corporate transactions within the insurance sector, including M&A and portfolio deals
- Supporting clients through complex regulatory and due diligence processes
- Drafting and negotiating transaction documents to a high standard
- Managing matters efficiently, taking responsibility for delivery and project management
- Working closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives, risks and opportunities
- Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas and jurisdictions
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the wider profile of the team
- Acting as a source of knowledge and guidance for junior team members
What My Client Is Looking For
- 3–7 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in corporate law, ideally with exposure to insurance-related transactions
- Experience gained within a top-tier or well-regarded firm
- Strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent)
- Excellent drafting, technical and analytical skills
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Interest in developing a long-term career within the corporate insurance space
