Amicus Law Solicitors is a friendly Dorset, Somerset and Devon-based Law Firm. We are an experienced, specialist team of tenacious, yet friendly lawyers. Passionate about representing our clients’ interests, with offices in Bridgwater, Taunton, Minehead, Yeovil, Wellington, Martock, Ilminster, Exeter, Weymouth, and Tiverton.
In this role you’ll act as the first point of contact for prospective clients, managing all new business enquiries efficiently and professionally. The role is responsible for converting enquiries into instructed matters, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience, and supporting ongoing client engagement during the early stages of the matter.
Job Role- Key Responsibilities
- Handle all incoming new business enquiries via telephone, email, and website
- Act as a professional and knowledgeable first point of contact for prospective clients
- Gather key information to understand client needs and direct appropriately
- Provide a high standard of client care and ensure a positive first impression
- Proactively follow up on quotations to convert enquiries into instructions
- Liaise with fee earners where necessary to support conversion
- Open new client files in line with firm procedures
- Complete all onboarding requirements, including:
- Client due diligence (CDD) / AML checks
- Engagement letters and terms of business
- Initial data capture and system input
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met before instruction
- Act as a key point of contact during the early stages of a matter
- Conduct follow-up calls and check-ins with clients to ensure satisfaction and progress
- Identify any risks, delays, or issues and elevate where appropriate
- Ensure smooth handover to fee earners once the matter progresses
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, conversions, and ongoing pipeline activity
- Track and follow up on all live enquiries and quoted matters
- Ensure no enquiry is left without appropriate follow-up
- Provide regular updates to management on conversion rates and trends
- Identify opportunities to improve client onboarding and conversion processes
- Provide feedback on common client queries and barriers to instruction
- Support wider business development and client engagement initiatives
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a client-facing or customer service role
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to build rapport and instil confidence with clients
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple enquiries and prioritise effectively
Desirable:
- Experience within a legal or professional services environment
- Knowledge of legal processes and client onboarding requirements
- Experience using case management systems or CRM tools
Full Time – 8.45am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday
