We are looking for an additional team member for any of our offices to fill the role of Litigation Fee Earner, this is open to Paralegal, CILEX and Solicitor Level. Assisting the firm in meeting its professional obligations and business viability in accordance with the needs of the firm and the legal market. To provide a high level of legal advice and assistance to the clients of the firm in the fee earners area of specialism. Ensuring that the advice given is accurate and comprehensive and that all advice provided is clearly recorded on the client’s file.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that clients are provided with comprehensive advice.
  • Managing a varied caseload of litigation matters from inception through to resolution, including pre-action procedures, pleadings, and trial preparation.
  • To promptly respond to client’s communications and promptly conduct all communications with solicitors instructed by other parties and with all other parties relating to the matter.
  • To respond to all written telephone communications promptly.
  • To actively progress the client’s matter promptly to conclusion.
  • To draft all necessary documentation required to progress the client’s case and to proofread documents to achieve 100% accuracy wherever possible.
  • To uphold the highest standards of work and professional conduct.
  • To ensure that paper and electronic files are up to date and accurate.
  • To ensure that all client files, trial bundles and other documents are well organised and displayed and comply with all internal and external procedures and requirements.
  • To comply with all statutory requirements, where necessary.
  • To prioritise work to meet deadlines agreed with the client or any other party involved with the matter.
  • To maintain accurate billing records by recording time appropriately and to bill clients promptly and regularly for work conducted.
  • To actively monitor all WIP levels on the Employee’s files.
  • To meet time recording, billing and other performance targets.
  • To assist with any marketing or promotional activity being undertaken by the firm whether for the benefit of the employee, their main office of the firm as a whole.
  • To represent the firm by attending networking and other organised events.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Utilising IT systems effectively for case management, document drafting, and communication purposes.

Experience

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, courts, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and case management software is required.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
