Locum GP sought for summer cover (6 sessions per week July-September) - Amicus Health, Tiverton.
Our Amicus Health team are actively seeking a Locum GP to join our caring, cohesive and vibrant team on a temporary basis at our Clare House and Bampton Surgeries.

Main duties of the job
- Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and associated work and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
- Providing counselling and health education.
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Overview of your organisation
Amicus Health is a thriving practice with five sites located in the picturesque Mid Devon area covering Clare House, Bampton, Witheridge, Morchard Bishop and Cheriton Fitzpaine surgeries. We deliver excellent primary care across Mid Devon thanks to our multidisciplinary clinical team of GPs, pharmacists, ANP's, paramedics, practice nurses, HCAs and a strong administrative function.
Despite our size, we maintain a strong team ethos with daily meetings, regular clinical team discussions and shared lunch breaks. We provide fruit, tea and coffee for all staff and foster team spirit with annual summer and Christmas parties, yoga, walking groups and appreciation postcards.
