Amica Care offers a range of friendly, welcoming and professional support services, including occasional day care, to assisted living providing the independence many of our residents desire, through to specialist dementia care for those in most need of our support. We are recruiting for a Senior Nurse / Clinical Lead to join our fantastic team in Plymouth for 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of circa £50,000 DOE.

You will be an expert in clinical leadership, providing assessments, advice and care for a range of conditions, ensuring continuous improvements to meet the changing needs of our residents. You will be an inspirational lead and be responsible for supporting the nursing team, guiding them on the floor and working with health care professionals to ensure the physical, emotional and social support for our residents.

Day to Day includes:

  • Leads, directs, supervises and supports the Nurses and all other grades of care staff working within the home in providing services which can respond flexibly to the needs of the residents.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines, ensuring risks are proactively managed and issues identified, investigated and resolved.
  • Liaison with relatives and other significant people in the lives of residents and members of other Multi-Disciplinary Teams, who share the responsibility for the physical, psychological, social, spiritual and emotional wellbeing of residents.
  • You will look after the physical, psychological and social needs of our residents and work in line with Amica Care's policies and procedures.
  • You will look to provide a safe and supportive environment for residents with a range of physical and mental needs, whilst also using your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions.
  • Oversee all aspects of medication management, ensuring medications are appropriately ordered, received, stored and administered to our residents.
  • Support the management team to ensure there is a line management structure for care staff and nurses in order to take an active role in the development of staff through effective clinical supervision, mentoring and support to ensure their competence with relevant Trust policies and Statutory requirements.

Requirements include:

  • You will need to have a current NMC registration and a good knowledge of the most up to date clinical practices.
  • A nursing Diploma.
  • At least 2 years' experience working as a nurse in a health care setting or similar healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations.
  • Knowledge of older people's care.
  • Good knowledge of dementia & complex healthcare needs.
  • Healthcare professional Qualification / Level 4 / 5 (desirable).
  • Strong assessment and care planning skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
