At Amica Care, food is about far more than nutrition. It’s about comfort, dignity, choice, and joy. We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering nutritious, well-balanced meals that truly enhance daily life for our residents.
About the role
You’ll play a key role in preparing and serving meals that meet individual dietary, cultural and medical needs, while helping create a warm, welcoming dining experience. Working closely with care and nursing colleagues, you’ll adapt meals day-to-day to support residents’ wellbeing, independence and enjoyment. This is a part-time position, with alternate weekend working required.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and serving meals in line with planned menus and individual dietary requirements
- Supporting residents with modified textures, allergies and specialist diets
- Assisting with menu planning, including seasonal and themed meals, and listening to resident preferences
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness (HACCP/COSHH)
- Keeping accurate food safety, temperature and dietary records
- Supporting stock control, deliveries and kitchen organisation
- Helping supervise kitchen assistants and contribute to a positive team culture
- Catering for special occasions such as birthdays and celebrations.

What you’ll bring
Essential
- Catering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or above)
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
- Experience in a similar role, ideally in a care or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of special diets, texture modification and allergens.
Desirable
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
- First Aid knowledge
- Experience supporting or supervising others.
