CassonX is pleased to be the exclusive recruiter for a growing Global Macro Hedge Fund that has reached $1bn AUM within just a few years. The firm’s senior leadership includes professionals from leading alternative strategy asset managers, and they are now looking to hire their first dedicated Operations resource as they expand.

To be considered, candidates should have Fund Accounting experience from either a Hedge Fund or Administrator, supporting various hedge fund structures. While a qualified accountant qualification is preferred, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will have worked directly with hedge funds or supported hedge funds in fund accounting roles. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders are highly valued. Knowledge of exotic and structured derivatives, particularly Options, Exotic Options, and Rates, is highly advantageous. Experience covering trade lifecycles is also beneficial.

This broad role offers exposure to all aspects of Fund Accounting and supports wider middle office and operations functions. Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting pricing and valuation issues, maintaining valuation policies
  • Reviewing fund administrator calculations of NAV and NAV estimates
  • Maintaining internal shadow NAV and reporting
  • Calculating and instructing Share Class hedges, explaining return divergences
  • Assisting with annual fund audits and financial statement reviews
  • Supporting investor tax reporting

Additional operations tasks include:

  • Daily fund transaction, position, and cash reconciliations
  • Trade matching and confirmation for derivatives
  • Coordination with traders and prime brokers for error resolution
  • Product setup, testing, static data management
  • Counterparty exposure, collateral, and risk reporting
  • Monitoring and optimizing fund financing
  • Maintaining operational policies and procedures
  • System enhancements, testing, and process improvements
