We’re hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join AMH Material Handling’s growing team in Aylesford. Offering a competitive salary up to £56,000 including shift allowance, optional overtime, and the chance to work on one of the UK’s most advanced automated facilities.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Location: Aylesford
- Salary: Up to £56,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) + Overtime
- Hours: 12-hour shifts, working on a four on, four off rotation (days and nights)
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns
- Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs
- Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies
- Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks
- Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability
- Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams
- Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date
This is a hands-on, technically varied role where you’ll work with the latest automation technologies and gain exposure to some of the most advanced logistics engineering systems in the UK.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an adaptable, reliable engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous learning, and teamwork.
- Essential:
- Relevant qualification in engineering e.g. NVQ, apprenticeship etc
- Previous experience in maintenance engineering (electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled)
- Practical understanding of conveyors, motors, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and team-working ability
- Flexible to work shifts (including days/nights on a 4-on, 4-off rotation)
- Committed to working safely and maintaining high standards
