Role Overview

A proactive and experienced HR professional to take on the role of HR Project Support – People for a fixed-term period of two years. This key post will provide dedicated support across three high-impact organisational initiatives: the Llanberis Project, NMC 100, and the Ways of Working Project.

Main Purpose of job

As a trusted advisor, the role holder will ensure that all people-related elements of these initiatives are aligned with our HR policies, legal requirements, and organisational priorities. Working closely with senior stakeholders—including Senior Executive Team members and Project Leads, you will support decision-making with timely, strategic HR guidance and well-structured reporting. You will be required to navigate complex people issues, track key milestones, and manage cross-functional communication will be central to success.

Skills in change management are essential to enable coaching of those leading and supporting project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as the primary HR contact within project teams, providing high-quality advice on employment law, policy application, and organisational change.
    • Liaising with the Head of HR to ensure alignment with internal policies and objectives, providing regular updates
    • Working with the HR team to ensure any Ways of Working initiatives that fall under BAU are progressing and being implemented within agreed timescales and ensure that those that are not in BAU are led to completion.
    • Support project leads to ensure that a professional HR service is offered across the projects – this will include org design and working with the local HR BP implement recruitment of staff into the new and emerging structures.
    • Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation to drive forward project goals.
    • Prepare and present high-quality written reports, briefings, and updates for SET, Committees and contributing to Board-level reports.
    • Contribute to project governance by participating in senior project meetings and ensuring people-related risks and updates are accurately captured.
  • Project Reporting & Workforce Analytics
    • Maintain project people dashboards to track HR deliverables, workforce metrics, financial implications, and timelines.
    • Monitor and report on headcount, staffing changes, turnover trends, and people-related budget forecasting for the project and working with HR MI support.
    • Produce targeted reports to inform executive decision-making and ensure transparency across project milestones.
  • Operational HR Delivery
    • Ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies in all HR actions related to project delivery.
    • Support project related recruitment, organisational design, consultation activities, and staff engagement across project phases.
    • Provide direct coaching, training and support to managers implementing changes within their teams.

Person Specification

Job specific

  • Demonstrable HR experience at an advisory or business partner level, preferably within project or transformation contexts.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and HR policy frameworks.
  • Ability to develop and deliver reports and presentations for senior leadership audiences.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, including experience working with senior managers, boards, and governance bodies.
  • Confident communicator with an analytical mindset and a high degree of professional judgement.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable and Additional Skills

  • Conversational Welsh language skills (spoken and written) to support engagement across sites or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in public or not-for-profit sectors, including health, education, or local government projects.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to sites, particularly Llanberis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional project teams.
