Overview

As Sr Manager, Instructional Designer, you will lead the creation and refinement of learning experiences that boost employee capability, performance, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with governance and subject-matter experts to translate complex content into effective training across modes. You will oversee curriculum design, assessments, and evaluation, while ensuring audits, quality, and document control are met. You will drive learning-process improvements and stay current with design and accessibility practices to support a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, blended-learning, and performance-support materials
  • Partner with subject-matter experts to define learning objectives and translate complex content into learning solutions
  • Create and maintain curricula, outlines, facilitator guides, participant materials, e-learning modules, job aids, assessments, and evaluation tools
  • Apply adult-learning principles, accessibility practices, and assessment standards
  • Ensure learning materials meet regulatory, quality, document-control, and audit-readiness requirements
  • Maintain content versions, review records, approvals, and revision history
  • Evaluate curriculum structure, course sequencing, learner progression; advise instructors, program owners, and subject-matter experts
  • Ensure assignments and assessments align with required competencies, curriculum outcomes, job expectations, and compliance obligations
  • Review learner feedback, performance data, and business needs to improve learning effectiveness
  • Support learning-process transformation by helping implement improved tools, standards, workflows, governance, and ways of working
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, modernize, or digitize learning processes across the learning lifecycle
  • Stay current on instructional design, learning technology, learning analytics, accessibility, and compliance-training practices

Key requirements

  • 8+ years experience in Operations, Development or related functions; biopharmaceutical / life sciences preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning and development, organizational development, or related field
  • Experience designing training in regulated, quality-controlled or highly governed environments
  • Strong knowledge of adult-learning theory, instructional design principles, curriculum development, assessment design, and learning evaluation
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, technical content, and regulatory requirements into effective training
  • Experience guiding on curriculum, assignments, assessments, and learner requirements
  • Knowledge of industry-standard learning tools and platforms such as Articulate, Captivate, and AI technology
  • Proven track record of managing e-learning projects from conception to completion
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
