Overview
As Senior Counsel for Employment Law at Amgen, you will provide strategic legal guidance on UK and European employment issues, with a focus on cross-border matters across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Canada. You will support HR, business leaders, and the Law Department by handling complex employment matters and litigation, acting as a trusted partner in regional initiatives. You will collaborate with local counsel and Staff Relations to identify risks and craft practical, business-aligned solutions. Responsibilities
- Advise HR and business leaders on complex employment law matters across multiple European jurisdictions, focusing on cross-border issues
- Manage employment litigation, admin claims, and disputes, including oversight of outside counsel
- Provide guidance on employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Partner with regional HR and Staff Relations to identify and mitigate legal risks in cross-country initiatives
- Coordinate with local counsel on country-specific labor and employment issues in Europe
- Collaborate with Law Department and other functions to deliver practical legal solutions and serve as SME for cross-border matters
Key requirements
- Significant experience in employment law practice, including in EU countries
- Qualified to practice in UK and/or Ireland (admitted to bar or Law Society Roll of Solicitors)
- Experience with a multinational corporation or globally recognized law firm
