What you will do
- Support the Center for Observational Research (CfOR) organization by providing programming in SAS, R and SQL to perform data manipulation, analyse large healthcare datasets, oversee study implementation and quality control, and drive innovation, efficiency, and organisational growth.
- Develop, test, and QC SAS, R, and SQL programs for large healthcare datasets and statistical reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of programmers, ensuring accurate, timely deliverables.
- Manage project priorities, resources, workflows, and timelines with key stakeholders.
- Develop and review programming plans, dataset specifications, macros, functions, and utilities.
- Ensure data analyses and outputs are accurate, complete, and compliant with policies and SOPs.
- Contribute to study documentation, including SAPs, CRFs, and Data Management Plans.
- Represent programming in cross-functional meetings and support continuous process improvement.
- Support audits, controlled-document development, recruitment, and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in professional organisations, conferences, and industry meetings.
You would be joining the Center for Observational Research (CfOR) organization. The successful candidate will report to a Biostatistical Programming Sr Mgr in CfOR’s ELMAC Data & Analytic Center (ELMAC DAC).
What we expect of you
- Degree educated in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences or other relevant scientific subject.
- Demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical industry and within a regulated environment.
- Extensive SAS or R programming experience for complex data manipulation and analysis.
- Proven experience with database programming using SQL.
- Experience with real world healthcare data such as the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), German Disease Analyzer, MarketScan, Optum, DRG, PharMetrics, Medicare or other Electronic Medical Records (EMR) databases.
- Vendor relationship management or related experience with functional service providers.
- Training or experience using the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) common data model as well as with Databricks or other high performance computing environment.
- Experience with UNIX operating system.
