BIOSTATISTICAL PROGRAMMING SENIOR MANAGER

What you will do

In this vital role you will lead the Biostatistical Programming team supporting the obesity therapeutic area, delivering high-quality programming for real-world evidence (RWE) observational studies.

You will oversee programming strategy, resource planning, and technical execution, ensuring timely, compliant, and efficient delivery while driving innovation and continuous improvement across the function.

The responsibilities of the role will include

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of statistical programmers, including oversight of outsourced resources.
  • Plan and manage programming activities, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery aligned with project timelines and departmental standards.
  • Provide technical leadership for RWE programming, including analysis datasets, statistical outputs, macros, and programming solutions.
  • Review and approve programming plans, dataset specifications, and key study documents to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Represent the programming function within cross-functional project teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements, technical standards, training, and the development of policies and best practices.
  • Support vendor selection, audits, inspections, and recruitment activities while contributing to the continuous advancement of the programming function.

  • Degree educated.
  • Experience in clinical research, drug development, and biostatistical programming.
  • Proven leadership in programming, project management, and process improvement.
  • Experience across pre-, early-, late-phase, and/or observational studies.
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in SAS, with knowledge of UNIX or other operating systems.
  • Understanding of drug development processes, software development, and programming standards.
  • Experience developing policies, SOPs, and collaborating within global, cross-functional teams.
