In this senior role, you will provide medical leadership across Amgen’s rare disease and inflammatory disease portfolio, acting as the local medical expert and co-leading brand strategy with cross-functional partners. You will adapt global and regional strategy to local priorities, shape evidence generation and stakeholder engagement plans, and support high-quality execution across both inline and pipeline assets.
- Co-lead cross-functional brand strategy for designated products across the rare disease and inflammatory disease portfolio.
- Provide medical leadership to ensure global and regional strategy is translated effectively into local priorities and plans.
- Engage external experts, professional organisations, and other key stakeholders to inform strategy and strengthen scientific partnership.
- Partner with marketing, value and access, and other internal stakeholders to support lifecycle planning and patient access initiatives.
- Contribute to UK and Ireland affiliate strategy and tactical planning in close collaboration with regional and global colleagues.
- Support evidence generation planning, including collaboration on company-sponsored studies and review of investigator-sponsored study proposals.
- Work with clinical operations to identify appropriate sites and investigators for future company-sponsored research.
- Lead and develop assigned team members through effective line management, including coaching, performance development, capability building, and oversight of resource planning.
- Deliver therapy area and product-specific medical training to internal stakeholders as required.
- Provide medical review and approval support for promotional and non-promotional materials in line with applicable standards and governance.
You will be part of the UK and Ireland affiliate, working in a matrix environment with local Marketing and Value & Access teams, and regional and global partners. The role includes direct line management responsibilities and reports to the Medical Development Director - General Medicine.

- Degree educated.
- Medical affairs experience, gained within pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
- Previous people management and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programmes, or resources is desirable but not essential. A genuine interest in people leadership is essential.
- Proven experience as a final ABPI signatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while building strong cross-functional partnerships, leveraging strategic thinking, commercial acumen, agility, and effective communication to adapt quickly and deliver business objectives in a dynamic environment.
- Product/therapeutic area knowledge within rare diseases and/or inflammation experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
