AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking Production Team Members to join our growing organization at our Cambridge Plant. AMG Vanadium’s Production Team Member is responsible for the safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, and product delivery in AMG V’s melting and roasting operation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Comply with all AMG V policies and procedures, safety and environmental requirements, and AMG’s Code of Business Conduct
- Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities
- Operate AMG V’s electric arc furnace and/or roaster, system controls, and mobile equipment as required
- Maximise productivity and optimise equipment uptime to ensure customer quality and delivery requirements are met
- Engage in team problem-solving and decision-making activities
- Utilise principles of lean manufacturing, including 6S, to support operational and process improvements
- Utilise strong interpersonal and communication skills to create a high performing team
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in heavy manufacturing environment desired; steel or hot metal experience a plus
- Heavy machine operator experience, i.e.: loader, dozer, forklift, dump truck preferred
- Team player
- Receptive and adaptable to change
- Knowledge of or desire to learn lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills a must
- Ability to work 12 hours swing/rotating shifts (weekends included)
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments where the temperature can swing rapidly
- Ability to work in physically demanding environment; bending, stooping and lifting of 50 lbs. required
- Strong work ethic and good attention to detail
- Punctual, reliable, and have good attendance history
