We are working with a leading national financial planning firm to recruit a Senior Manager into their highly specialised Personal Injury & Court of Protection (PICOP) team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing and developing a team of Financial Advisers who support clients through complex and often life-changing circumstances. The position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability, and emotional intelligence.
The Opportunity: You will lead a team of 14 Advisers (9 in Bury, 5 in London), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant financial advice while driving both individual and team performance. This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established and respected PICOP function, supporting vulnerable clients and helping secure their long-term financial futures. It is an environment where empathy, professionalism, and technical excellence are equally important.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Financial Advisers across multiple locations
- Set clear objectives and create structured business plans for individuals and the wider team
- Conduct regular 1:1s, observations, and coaching sessions to drive performance
- Ensure team members meet or exceed business targets and compliance standards
- Identify opportunities for growth through data analysis and market insight
- Work closely with Operations and Paraplanning teams to deliver an efficient client service
- Oversee elements of business sign-off in line with regulatory requirements
- Support the delivery of SMCR responsibilities and maintain high professional standards
About You:
- Level 4 Diploma qualified (DipPFS/DipFA essential)
- Proven experience managing and developing Financial Advisers
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the advisory process
- A flexible and adaptive leadership style, able to support advisers at different stages of their careers
- Commercially astute, with a track record of delivering results through others
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Empathetic and professional, with an understanding of the sensitivities involved in PICOP work (J07 or equivalent supervision qualification would be advantageous)
