Stone, Staffordshire | 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday | Community-based
Tracheostomy. Ventilation. Cough assist. PEG. Spinal cord injury. Acquired brain injury.
Not on a ward. In people's homes, with a caseload you actually know and the authority to sign off who is competent to deliver their care.
AMG Nursing & Care Services has delivered nurse-led complex care since 1985.
We are a Headway partner, a UKABIF strategic partner and a BABICM corporate associate, commissioned by ICBs, case managers, solicitors and local authorities across the Midlands and North Wales.
We are recruiting an RGN to lead clinical delivery across our Wolverhampton adult complex care packages.
WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO
You hold clinical responsibility for a defined group of adult complex care packages in the Wolverhampton area:
- Comprehensive clinical assessment and individualised care planning
- Delivering bespoke one-to-one clinical training to care teams and family members, and owning the competency sign-off decision
- Ongoing clinical supervision, spot checks and support to your carers
- Working with commissioners, case managers, community teams and families to keep packages safe, funded and effective
Our carers complete a four-day classroom induction and annual update training.
What turns that into safe complex care delivery is the nurse who trains and signs them off at package level.
That is you.
THE CLINICAL PICTURE
Your adult caseload will include
- Acquired and traumatic brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Respiratory and airway support — tracheostomy management, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, cough assist, suction
- Degenerative and neurological conditions — Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Huntington's, Cerebral Palsy
Day to day this means PEG and RIG feeding, catheter care, bowel management, epilepsy management, diabetes management and medication administration.
You will work autonomously, with a senior nursing structure and a dedicated quality team behind you.
- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Current NMC registration as an RGN
- Experience with complex health needs — acute, community, hospice or rehab
- Confident clinical assessment and care planning
- The ability to teach, assess and develop others, not just perform the intervention yourself
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
If your tracheostomy and ventilation experience is hospital-based and you have never worked in the community, we will train you into the model.
Clinical judgement and the credibility to lead a care team are what we cannot teach.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Salary based on experience and clinical scope
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours, with genuine flexibility
- Funded clinical development, including brain injury and respiratory specialism
- A nurse-led organisation where clinical decisions sit with clinicians
- Mileage and travel expenses
We are happy to hear from nurses who are curious rather than actively looking.
