Our client, a large engineering business based in Shipley, have an urgent requirement to recruit well versed CNC Turners to their large team.

Duties

  • To complete pre-use machine inspections, to record results and report any hazards or faults.
  • To complete asset care tasks in line with maintenance schedule.
  • To monitor metal cutting fluids to ensure correct tank levels and percentage concentration are maintained, highlighting any concerns with the environmental team and team leader.
  • Maintain and clean tanks in line with service schedule.
  • To make full use of the working day completing in-cycle tasks where cycle times permit, including the running of additional machines or conducting additional manual operations.
  • To set and operate CNC Lathes in line with standard operating procedures and setup sheets.
  • The production and inspection of parts in line with drawing specification and quality standards, including the deburring and part marking of components.
  • To achieve required machine efficiency targets.
  • Data capture, the use of manual and computer systems to book and record material movements, recording of process times, downtime, part quantities, and other information to assist in the control and development of the department.
  • Adherence to production plan.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in a similar role and be an apprentice trained engineer (NVQ level 3 or equivalent). You will be able to set, operate and edit programs using either FANUC or Mazak control systems. These are permanent positions. Three are required on an early & late shift pattern and one is required on a three shift pattern which does include nights.

Shifts

  • Early & Lates: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm
  • Triple Shifts: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm (10:30pm on a Friday) / 10pm - 6am (4 nights)

This equates to 37.5 hours per week. In return you can expect £18.42 per hour plus shift allowance:

  • Double Shift - 21.25% Shift allowance which equates to a salary of £43.5k
  • Triple Shift - 39.58% Shift Allowance which equates to a salary of £50k
