Job Overview

Design, program, test and commission PLC and HMI control systems. Provide technical support for production, service engineers and customers, ensuring systems comply with current legislation, standards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and configure IDEC PLCs and HMI systems
  • Carry out point-to-point testing and full functional testing of control panels prior to dispatch.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical and control system faults during manufacture and testing.
  • Update, modify and maintain electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation are accurate and issued in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provide technical telephone support to service and commissioning engineers on site.
  • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and electrical control systems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Support continuous improvement of control systems, software and panel designs.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Assist with commissioning activities and product development where required.
