MECHANICAL FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Our client, a engineering business with a global footprint, have a exciting new position, due to continued growth, for a mechanical field service engineer to join their existing team.
As the mechanical field service engineer you will be required to travel around the UK and be the face of the company and as such you will have a drive and enthusiasm and be willing to help customers. You will on average beaway for up to 2 nights a week on average and will have a valid uk driving license.
Your main duties will be, but not limited to, the below….
- Installation of new and refurbished equipment and systems
- Commission of new and refurbished equipment and systems
- Working independently or as part of the team
- Working on site to fault find / diagnose machine problems and generate solutions
- Generating site reports with recommendations for upgrades and improvements
- On-site maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical equipment
- Stripping, assessing and refurbishing hydraulic valves and pumps
- Supporting the Oilgear sales team
- Working closely with customers at all levels
- Identifying opportunities for Service & Repair
- Working with customers to train maintenance staff
- Completing field reports and time sheets/expense forms in a timely manner
Candidate
The right mechanical field service engineer will have an excellent understanding of hydraulics – drawings, electrics, calibrating flow, pressure, temperature. You will be able to fault find and diagnose while working independently in the field.
You will write reports, mission statements and have experience in working in the field already.
This is a permanent role where you will be expected to work a regular 36 hour week, in the factory when needed, but when out in the field be flexible with your time and hours, which of course you will be rewarded for any extra.
