Our client is a small family run business with over 75 years of experience in their field of internal combustion engines. They continue to keep at the forefront of the industry, offering friendly service, providing technical information and other services to the trade and retail customers locally and nationally. They are looking for someone with experience in manual machine operation; there are no CNC machines and ideally some knowledge of engines and parts.
Key Tasks:
- Using machines including milling, lathes, borers, honing and other specialist machines
- Dismantling and reassembling engines and component parts
- Assessing and diagnosing faults and identifying fixes
- Producing reports to identify requirements
- Collaborating with the wider team to identify issues and solutions
- Using the information provided to assess potential issues with the engine
- Using knowledge of issues to carry out appropriate tests to diagnose issues
- Identifying potential fixes to issues and communicating these to colleagues
- Working with the Stores staff to ensure that any parts required are ordered and correct
- Supporting the Stores staff with customer queries where there is technical information needed, including direct communication with customers
- General upkeep of workspace keeping it clean and tidy
- Complying with company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
- Any other duties and tasks as appropriate
The Offer:
- Up to £24k
- Work hours Monday to Friday 8-5
- 21 days holiday, increasing by one day per each full year of service up to a maximum of 26 days
