Our client, a large engineering business based near Shipley, have an immediate requirement to recruit 2 semi skilled Mechanical Assembly Fitters.
Duties:
- Fitting and deburring parts to drawing requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and legible.
- Ensure workplace standards are adhered to.
- Carry out Operator Asset Care tasks.
- Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague.
- Audit work areas to company 6’s standards.
- Carry out any cleaning pit-stops at the proposed time efficiently and effectively.
- Escalate any tooling, drawing, routings and machine faults.
- Participate in investigations to determine non-conformance (5Y/8D).
- Document any data relevant to associated tasks.
- Ensure that stock control procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Participate in any cost saving initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the improvement team.
- Communicate with operators from other shifts and carry out effective end of shift handovers.
- Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and new employees.
The successful candidates will have knowledge of the following:
- Quality systems and procedures.
- Problem solving, mechanical and technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Basic Lean principles.
You will have experience in assembly and have hand tool skills. This is a permanent position where you will be expected to work 6am - 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am - 11:30am on a Friday. In return you can expect a salary of £29,750.
