Our client, a precision engineering company in the Farnborough area, has an immediate requirement to recruit a capable Production Manager to join their growing business.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan and schedule the flow of work through the factory with a focus on quality and on‑time delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement in line with lean objectives; challenge processes to reduce lead times, setups, cycle times and non‑value adding activities.
- Motivate and manage highly skilled staff assertively but fairly; hold regular meetings with reports to ensure production plans are met.
- Prepare accurate, clear and concise reports for the management team on capacity, progress and output; present at weekly management meetings with timescales and an overall monthly forecast for board submission.
- Liaise with customers on progress and delivery, and handle customer delivery schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
- Utilise production control ERP and MRP systems; extend capabilities with databases, spreadsheets and other office software as required.
- From the production control system, generate schedules and capacity plans for the shop and load them efficiently using a system of work‑to lists; balance resources across machines, people and materials.

- Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar role and environment.
- Knowledge of production control ERP and MRP systems; proficiency with databases, spreadsheets and other office software is highly desirable.
