Our client, a manufacturer based in Leeds, LS10, is looking for a Specification / Technical Sales Executive to join the existing team. The role is responsible for helping secure new and existing business for geotextiles, geocomposite and cuspate products within civil engineering, construction and environmental markets of the UK and selective overseas territories. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and regulators.
Responsibilities
- Represent the company at all levels of client or client associated organisations to maintain and grow relationships and secure continued, profitable business.
- Promote and secure specification of the company's products.
- Nurture and protect specifications through all stages of construction through to handover.
- Identify and pursue new profitable opportunities.
- Develop and manage term agreements employing key account management as required.
- Provide effective market intelligence to allow quick decision making by senior management.
- Provide input on product development opportunities using our StageGate program.
- Conduct presentations to consultants and engineers for commercial gain.
- Utilise and maintain our Dynamics CRM system.
Candidate Profile / Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication – a good presenter with presence and personality at all levels of business, from board room to shop floor.
- Ability to operate as part of a team and independently in the field.
- Proven experience in an external specification / technical sales role or substantial experience within construction or civil engineering that positions them to commence a sales role with a geotechnical product.
- Demonstrated history of developing profitable relationships.
- Natural problem solver with an inquisitive mind.
- Ability to create a tight specification.
Qualifications
- Background in a similar sales role is required.
- A degree level qualification or a civil engineering qualification would be an added advantage.
