We are recruiting for Winter Patrol Drivers to join our NMC North East account based in Perth. These roles will be a 6-month fixed term contract between November and April, and you will work on a 4 on 4 off rota.
Winter Patrol Drivers play a crucial role in our winter service operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of road users. Through timely and effective road gritting, you will help minimise delays and disruptions caused by snow and ice during the peak winter season.
You will be responsible for:
- The safety of yourself and others within your team, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public.
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, correctly filling in defect books.
- Driving and operating vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills, maintaining high technical standards.
- Allocation and capturing time and resource utilisation in line with operated allocation system.
- Attending project and work briefings as required.
- Keeping records, completing all necessary paperwork, communicating, and liaising with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- A valid HGV Class 2 license, and a full Drivers CPC qualification card.
- Previous winter experience and a telehandler qualification would be preferred.
- Self-motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions.
