We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Administrator to join our vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates our differences and makes a real impact across the UK. This role will be based on-site, working from our Walsall Street Lighting Depot (WS8 7EN). This position offers a competitive salary. You will have the opportunity to work with our Walsall Street Lighting team by providing essential administrative, operational, and compliance support across the Street Lighting function. The role is critical in ensuring efficient service delivery, accurate record-keeping, and timely coordination of activities. Your work will not only contribute to the success of the Walsall Streetlighting account, but also positively impact the community by ensuring well-lit, safe, and efficient roadways.

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday). We offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part-time and flexible working patterns. What you will be doing:

  • Maintaining and updating records within various management information systems
  • Undertaking general ‘team’ administrative duties as and when required
  • Distributing and sharing information internally to ensure customer needs are met
  • Receiving and disseminating information to other team members to ensure delivery
  • Maintaining office systems in an orderly manner
  • Undertaking other basic business support duties as part of a team
  • Assisting with the delivery of services to the client as prescribed by team leader/management
  • Inputting to and maintaining spreadsheets/databases/systems to produce and collate reports
  • Raising purchase orders and arranging payment of invoices
  • Administering petty cash
  • Providing cover for reception where appropriated/required

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a generalist administration/business support role
  • Experience/use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel in a general administrative role
  • Exposure to management systems or other similar data entry and reporting database applications
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Conscientious and confident approach to duties with a polite, pleasant and helpful attitude
