About the role

Permanent Service Life Extension Programme Centre Engineer in Beacon Barracks, Stafford. The salary is £38,040.96. Hours of work – 40 hours per week (Monday‑Friday with additional overtime required at weekends when needed).

What you will do

  • Liaise with the SLEP Centre Supervisor / Equipment Sustainability Manager on expected work, timescales and costs.
  • Identify additional work and liaise with the Supervisor; follow the NFW&T process for any damage found to inform the customer and identify potential revenue for damaged equipment.
  • Complete all related job and service documentation with accurate data and obtain necessary signatures from the customer.
  • Repair, maintain, inspect and service plant and HGV equipment and associated ancillaries to current company standards and LOLER/PUWER legislation.
  • Maintain local stocks of spares, CES, ancillaries, attachments and technical documentation.
  • Collect and input management information arising from maintenance and transaction activity, as required.
  • Adopt safe systems of work and adhere to company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies.
  • Mentor WFA and MoD maintainers and users within the limits of own qualification, ability and knowledge.
  • Carry out out‑of‑hours duties including weekend work as required.
  • Achieve local or team‑placed goals and KPIs.

What you will bring

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety, LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Experience in construction‑related plant/MHE/HGV maintenance.
  • No restrictions to gaining MoD security clearance.
  • Ability to load and unload equipment, tools, STTE and spares.
  • Valid passport for occasional travel overseas.
  • Ability to maintain periods of intense workload.
