We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a MITER Plant Operator offering a 12-month Contract onsite at Beacon Barracks, Stafford (ST180AQ). The salary is £32,097. Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities/Defence Equipment as Plant Operators and be integral to the delivery of our MOD contract. As part of this role, you will be required to become an active member of the Army Reserve as a Sponsored Reserve. As part of the recruitment process, those who have no military experience or have been out of the military for over 6 years will be required to attend Army Reservist basic training.
What you will do:
- Ensuring your personal Plant Logbook is kept up to date to accurately reflect military and commercial Plant and MHE qualifications, experience, competency levels and dates/hours of operation for each platform.
- Level 1/Operator maintenance and servicing of military and commercial Plant and MHE in the UK and on deployment as a Sponsored Reserve.
- Carrying out first, halt and last parade service on military and commercial Plant and MHE.
- Prompt fault reporting, record keeping and updating of documentation to reflect the current state of military and commercial Plant and MHE.
- Driving and operating military and commercial Plant and MHE, complying with driver disciplines for vehicle classification and safety considerations.
- Loading and unloading military and commercial Plant and MHE on/off transporters/rail flats.
- Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, with necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.
What you will bring:
- Previous experience of operating plant & MHE is advantageous but not a necessity as full training is provided if you hold a Category C (HGV) driving licence.
- Previous military experience is advantageous but not a necessity as full military reservist training is offered.
- The ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
