You’ll work on roles that directly contribute to maintaining and improving over 30,000km of UK highways and supporting the transition to a greener future. You’ll be empowered to bring fresh ideas, influence hiring strategies, and make a tangible impact on how we attract top talent in a highly competitive market.

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to truly understand their hiring needs and shape effective recruitment strategies
  • Deliver a seamless, high-quality candidate experience from first contact to offer
  • Work closely with senior resourcing colleagues to support strategic hiring activity, sharing insight and helping drive consistent best practice
  • Lead vacancy briefings, define innovative attraction and selection approaches, and act as a trusted advisor throughout the hiring process
  • Proactively source and headhunt talent using platforms such as LinkedIn and job boards
  • Plan and deliver high-volume recruitment campaigns and targeted hiring initiatives
  • Ensure recruitment data and insights are recorded and updated
  • Collaborate with marketing, onboarding teams, and external suppliers to build strong talent pipelines
  • Provide guidance on recruitment best practice, policy and market trends
  • Support business-critical projects such as mobilisations, redeployments, and large-scale recruitment drives
  • Ensure all compliance requirements (e.g. right to work, qualifications) are met efficiently

You’ll play a key role in continuously improving how we recruit, helping us stay ahead in a competitive talent market.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive, consultative recruiter who thrives in a fast-moving environment and loves building strong relationships. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment, either in-house, RPO or agency
  • A track record of successfully delivering against hiring targets and improving key metrics like time-to-fill
  • Strong sourcing and headhunting skills, with confidence using CV databases and recruitment tools
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work at pace without compromising quality
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels
  • A strong customer focus, ensuring both hiring managers and candidates receive a great experience
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge of UK recruitment practices and employment legislation

Bonus if you have:
