We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Temporary Traffic Management Design Authority (TM design authority) in Preston Brook to join our vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates our differences and makes a real impact across the UK.

What will the role offer? Working at Amey puts you at the centre of an inspiring expert team. You will have opportunities to work with our Area 10 M&R Network team, supporting delivery across a high-profile National Highways contract. The salary is competitive (please enquire for more details). The standard hours of work are to be confirmed. What you will be doing:

  • Act as Area 10’s Traffic Management Design Authority, providing Principal Contractor oversight and approval of all Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) designs
  • Ensure TM designs are safe, compliant, auditable and fit for purpose
  • Review, check and approve all TM designs prior to deployment
  • Ensure compliance with RtB39, NHSS, Chapter 8 and National Highways requirements
  • Undertake TM design activities where required
  • Manage Amey TM and other TM providers as subcontractors
  • Support and provide direction to TSCOs
  • Own TM-related issues, defects and lessons learned
  • Maintain design approvals, records and audit trails
  • Develop standard TM design processes, libraries and governance arrangements
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and compliance

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) design and deployment
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8 and NHSS requirements
  • Experience working on National Highways or highways maintenance contracts
  • Contractor and stakeholder management experience
  • Strong communication and technical decision-making skills
  • Competence in Temporary Traffic Management design principles
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Highways Safety Passport (or ability to obtain)
  • IHE Temporary Traffic Management Qualification (Level 4 or above)
  • EngTech, IEng or equivalent registration
  • NHSS 12A/B, 12C or 12D knowledge and experience
