We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor. This role is primarily based on site at 35 McFarlane Street, Paisley, Scotland, and will also involve travel to other project locations, with some flexibility for remote working.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 37.5 Hours per week
Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities working in Commercial to play a leading role in the project team and manage and/or carry out if required all normal quantity surveying duties to ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements. Reporting to: Principal Commercial Manager.
We work primarily within the Scottish Schools maintenance contracts carrying out numerous major projects for our existing council clients. We have been expanding over recent years picking up new clients along with larger construction projects. We are looking for an experienced QS to undertake all commercial aspects from assisting with pricing/procurement to complete commercial management of the project, including sub‑contractor procurement, subcontract management, client valuations and final accounting.
What you will do:
- Commit to following the spirit of the Amey Code, ensuring effective communication with our client(s) and internally.
- Ensure compliance with the Amey systems, processes and procedures to deliver post contract management on Contracts between £5m and £25m p.a.
- Exercise full cost control of project(s) including providing and monitoring budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the Principal Commercial Manager/Project Team.
- Identify the existence of all variations (changes) to the works in conjunction with other project team members and submit applications in a timely manner for payment, and endeavour to ensure the Client issues payment certificates in accordance with the Contract(s).
- Manage all aspects of subcontract procurement and payment to ensure timely and fully justified payments are made.
