We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician in HMP Wymott, Ulnes Walton, Leyland, Preston, Lancashire, PR26 8LW. The base salary is £29,009 - £35,015. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, between Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

What you will do:

  • Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
  • Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
  • Carry out like for like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
  • Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively helping to create a secure and well-maintained environment for staff and residents.
  • Assist the Responsible person and Authorised person when requested.
