We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Reactive Caretaker/Janitor to cover our Northampton Schools account. This role will be mobile across the schools on the account. You will be provided with a company van and a fuel card for this role. The hours for this role will be flexible from 7am – 7pm, Monday - Sunday, working 5 days out of 7. You will work 37.5 hours per week.
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Northampton Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 42 schools (five secondary and 37 primary). You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring smooth running of the school premises
- Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
- Ensuring heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
- Daily responsibility to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
- Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
- Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
- Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract. You must have a UK Driving Licence.
