We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on‑site Maintenance Electrician in HMP Long Lartin. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, across 7 days with a 1 in 3 weekend shift pattern, and includes an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary. You will also be part of the on‑call rota, contributing to responsive works. The base salary ranges between £30,866 and £36,135, dependent on experience.
What you will do:
- Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
- Actively fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
- Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works, ensuring relevant inspections and tests are carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
- Ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively to help create a secure and well‑maintained environment for staff and residents.
- Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when requested.
- Implement and follow Health 17th Edition considered with upskilling to 18th Edition.
Good working knowledge of Health completion can take up to 12 weeks, after which a start date will be agreed.
