In this capacity, you will work closely with the Principal Project Manager, leveraging their expertise to navigate ambiguity, manage risk, and address complex challenges. As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead initiatives with confidence, proactively resolving issues and adapting plans as necessary. You will foster a culture of excellence and innovation, ensuring all project deliverables consistently meet or exceed standards for quality, cost, and timeliness.

Collaborates with stakeholders to develop and communicate a compelling project vision. Establishes and maintains stakeholder relationships, providing decision‑makers with robust evidenced options and managing expectations at all projects. Acts as a liaison between multidisciplinary teams, breaking down organisational silos to foster collaboration and innovation. Working with peers to maintain standards. Delivers high‑impact communications to internal boards and external stakeholders, including project risk and issue updates. Establishes and oversees collaborative partnerships with external vendors and clients to enable project success.

Analysing and Planning

Develops and monitors comprehensive initiation artifacts, ensuring projects have a clear, defined scope, requirements and deliverables which contributes value to the wider organisation. Awareness of internal and external factors, which might impact your planning and delivery and making changes as required.

Design and Deliver

Adopts robust risk management frameworks, proactively identifying, evaluating, and mitigating critical threats to project delivery and benefit realisation. Imposes rigorous financial discipline, forecasting, and controlling budgets in the face of financial constraints. Leads project reviews and ensures the effective capture, dissemination, and adoption of learnings at all organisational levels. Monitors and evaluates project performance metrics, aligning outcomes to key performance indicators. Manages and steers complex, large‑scale programmes up to and exceeding 24 months in duration. Champions a culture of continuous improvement, utilising lessons learned and project best practices across the portfolio. Champions adoption of sustainable, environmentally responsible practices in project design and delivery. Ensuring the delivery of quick wins as identified are completed and benefits realisation plan is embedded at project closure.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject.
  • Have and be maintaining relevant APMP professional PM qualification.
  • Full membership of the Association for Project Management.
  • Able to deliver projects of 6-24 months duration that involve multiple delivery teams, spanning various organisations, geographical locations (both national and international) or sectors, most likely with novel technology and solutions.
  • Engages and manage sponsors and stakeholders, routinely at Account Manager or above levels, and other stakeholders and suppliers through potentially challenging discussions.
  • Very good oral communicator who is able to present arguments and ideas well.
  • Can work through conflict where decisions need to be made over priority, being able to reach, articulate, and defend the recommended decision and maintain a cohesive delivery using both formal and informal means.
  • Understands and advocates what ‘good’ looks like from a sponsor and wider business perspectives as appropriate for that project.
  • Very good working knowledge of relevant project management software and similar analytical tools.
  • Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables and is fully capable of working unsupervised.
