Permanent Lead Senior Architect — Team leader overseeing the production of technically sound deliverables for architectural commissions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a medium‑size technical team, providing and overseeing deliverables that meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
- Prepare, check and author designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
- Take responsibility for the commercial success of projects, controlling budgets and managing costs associated with deliverables.
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.
- Contribute to bid preparation and the general work‑winning function.
- Work on site on a visiting or full‑time temporary basis, including out‑of‑hours working.
- Assume people‑manager duties when required by the business.
Qualifications
- Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board.
- Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Skills
- Apply architectural theory and principles to complex or ambiguous situations.
- Deep knowledge of design and specification process, able to advise others and check designs to a high standard.
- Highly experienced with relevant software and analytical tools; can review colleagues’ work.
- Excellent knowledge of suppliers and supply‑chain services, with established contacts.
- Strong oral communication, capable of presenting arguments and ideas to clients and delivering training workshops.
- Good understanding of CDM and risk assessment, capable of acting as Principal Designer.
- Ability to resolve interface clashes and manage interfaces within own discipline.
