We are excited to offer a permanent Carpenter & Joiner position in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Saturday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday 08:00 - 16:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons.
What you will do:
- Carry out joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.
- Responsible for joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Measure and quote for works.
- Order materials and maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.
What you will bring:
- Organisation in work, with attention to detail.
- Level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry is required; however we may consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
- Experience in Maintenance.
Prison Security Clearance including Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) will be required (Amey will support you through this process). At Amey, we work on long-term stable contracts so you can plan a long-term career with us.
