The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location: HMP Usk, 47 Maryport St, Usk NP15 1XP.

Standard hours: 39 hours per week (shift pattern Mon-Thur 7.30am to 16.00pm, Fri 7.30am to 15.00pm). On call, weekend work if needed as overtime. Prison Security Clearance is required.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
  • Carry out joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and other bespoke timber items.
  • Responsible for joinery workshop – maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
  • Organise and plan your daily work with the supervisor, to record and submit all details of work carried out on relevant work orders.
  • Measure and quote for works.
  • Order materials.
  • Maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.
  • Support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Handle all other reasonable requests as determined by your line manager.
