We are excited to offer a Permanent Plumber position in HMP Cardiff, Knox Rd, Cardiff CF24 0UG. At Amey, we provide safe, clean, and efficient prisons for the Ministry of Justice.
Standard hours: 39 hours per week (8:00‑17:00, Monday to Friday, with one hour lunch. Weekend shifts on a 1‑in‑3 pattern, 15% allowance).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met across the contract.
- Performing statutory work on time, ensuring compliance.
- Conducting routine and non‑routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
- Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
- Repairing mains water supply and addressing life‑expired equipment.
- Monitoring the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
- Supporting zero‑carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
- Handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
Qualifications Required: Experience in operating light plant.
Desired: NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating; NVQ Level 2 also acceptable. Legionella Control (L8) and experience in a commercial environment are desirable but not essential. Prison Security Clearance will be required; Amey will support you through the process.
