We are excited to offer a Permanent Building Engineer position on our Nuclear Restoration services account in Somerset, Hinkley Point A Site, Bridgwater, TA5 1YA.
Working Hours and Location
The standard hours are 36 hours Monday to Thursday (shift pattern 07:30pm‑5:00pm). The role is based on-site.
Travel
You will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle to travel to and from the site safely and reliably.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and managing remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
- Performing general and semi‑skilled maintenance activities.
- Maintaining fire doors and performing flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
- Carrying out any other duties as required.
- Assisting the wider civils team with various tasks across the site.
What makes this role unique
is that you will work alongside the engineers on all maintenance across the site while also working independently.
Qualifications
- General maintenance background working on both reactive and compliance tasks.
- Ideally hold a building maintenance qualification or similar.
- Driving licence.
- Ideally you will be qualified in multiple areas of maintenance with experience in general building maintenance.
- Basic Health and Safety knowledge and exposure to building and system compliance is desirable, although not essential as training will be provided.
Additional Requirements
This role is subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check, which includes verification of identity, right to work in the UK, employment history, references, and a basic criminal record check. Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion.
