You will act as a team leader, producing and overseeing the production of technically sound project management deliverables for Amey Consulting commissions such as in the planning, monitoring and communication of processes and documentation that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme. To manage the actions of a small to medium sized, locally based single discipline project management team, including the people manager role when required by the business.
Thestandardhours of work are40 Hours per week.

Responsibilities
- To lead a team, producing technically sound project management deliverables for Amey Consulting, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks
- The preparation, checking and maintenance of project management related information that enables Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered whilst satisfying the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions
- Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio, controlling budgets and managing the costs associated with the production of deliverables
- Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
- Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject
- Full membership of the Association for Project Management
- Association for Project Management Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent
Skills
- Applies project management theory and principles to clearly understood situations, where concepts are matched to problems
- Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables and is fully capable of working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks. Can check deliverables to a reasonable standard and takes ownership for this
- Very good working knowledge of relevant project management software and similar analytical tools
- Has very good knowledge of suppliers and types of services they provide
- Very good oral communicator who is able to present arguments and ideas well. Delivers training workshops or presents proposals orally to clients
- Has a very good understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare, including specific regulations
- Demonstrates a good understanding of interface management. Ensures own deliverables align with deliverables produced by other disciplines
- Supervisory and people manager skills. Capable of managing a small to medium sized, locally based single discipline project management team, including the people manager role
- Experienced in undertaking project related tasks associated with the management of health, safety and welfare, e.g. Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Capable of acting as day-to-day main project management contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission
