The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 £ per hour.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Cleaner to join our Barnsley Schools Account in Horizon Community College, Dodworth Road, Barnsley S70 6PD. This role will be based on site. The salary is £13.46 per hour. The hours of work will be 25 hours per week - 5 hours per day Monday - Friday. This role will be a split between AM and PM shifts depending on requirements.

Amey provides facilities and estate management services to the Barnsley Schools Private Finance Initiative across 11 schools, ensuring high-quality, safe, clean, and compliant learning environments for teachers and students. They work in partnership with clients and end-users to deliver 24/7 services to the highest standard with minimal disruption to the schools' daily operations.

What you will do:

  • Supervise cleaners within your team, carrying out basic people management activity.
  • Carry out bi-weekly cleaning audits for internal improvements.
  • Control stock levels and order consumables to ensure service delivery through the correct channels.
  • Operate machinery safely and in line with the guidelines and training provided.
  • Train cleaners in Amey way modules including 6 monthly refreshers.
  • Resolve any concerns or issues raised by team members or elevate to your people manager if you are not able to.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests that are directed by your line manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
  • This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
